Amenities and Services

We're excited to announce that YMCAs are open across the Triangle. We want you to know what to expect when you arrive at our facilities. 

Due to state and local recommendations and CDC guidelines, some services and amenities will not be offered at this time.

Membership

Most YMCAs are open now. Our seasonal outdoor pool YMCAs, YMCA at Knightdale Station and YMCA at Meadowmont, are closed. The outdoor pool and tennis courts at the Hope Valley Farms YMCA are open.

Remember as a Y member, you have access to all branches in the Triangle. Please check your YMCA for specific hours of operation.

A.E. Finley YMCA
Monday - Friday: 5:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Sunday: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Alexander, Kerr, Kraft, Northwest Cary, Poole and Taylor YMCAs
Monday - Friday: 5:30 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Sunday: 1 - 5 p.m.

Chapel Hill - Carrboro, Downtown Durham, Lakewood and Southeast Raleigh YMCAs
Monday - Friday: 6 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Sunday: 1 - 5 p.m.

Chatham County and Ingram YMCAs
Monday - Thursday: 6 a.m. - 1 p.m., 4 - 8 p.m.
Friday: 6 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

YMCA at American Tobacco
Monday - Thursday: 6 - 9 a.m., 4 - 7 p.m.
Friday: 6 - 9 a.m.

The Poyner YMCA will open Monday, October 19 with limited hours. 

Poyner YMCA hours:
Monday & Wednesday: 6 - 9 a.m.
Tuesday & Thursday: 5 - 8 p.m.
Sunday: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Outoor pool hours vary by branch.

If you're interested in joining the YMCA of the Triangle, you can join online. Previous members or members who have put their membership on hold, should call a YMCA branch or contact YMCA Customer Service at 919-719-9989.

We are happy to announce that we can once again honor Nationwide Memberships.

Available Amenities and Services

Due to CDC guidelines and state and local health directives, some YMCA services and areas are open with restrictions. 

Cardio, strength and stretching areas
These areas will be open with limited capacity and activities.

Gym
The gyms are open for individual activity. That means you may shoot baskets or play pickle ball. During this phase volleyball and basketball pickup and games are not allowed. 

Pools
Pools are open with capacity restrictions. Lap lane swim reservations are required and can be made through our mobile app.

Racquetball
Open for singles

Tennis Courts
Open for singles or doubles play only

Group Fitness Classes
Outdoor group fitness classes are available at select YMCAs. Class sizes are limited to stay in compliance with state and local laws.

You can find available classes by visiting our schedules page. Reservations are required for classes and can be done through our mobile app or online through our schedules page.

Lap Lanes
Lap lanes are reservation only. Lanes are restricted two swimmers or members of the same household.

Locker Rooms
Locker Rooms are open with limited locker and shower access.
• Showers at the A.E. Finley YMCA unavailable due to mechanical issues.
• Lockers at the Downtown Durham YMCA will be temporarily unavailable.

Amenities and Services Temporarily Unavailable

Due to capacities mandated by state and local health departments, some services are not available at this time. They include:

  • Lobby sitting areas
  • Group exercise rooms. We will offer limited, modified group exercise in these spaces
  • Basketball and volleyball games
  • Steam rooms and saunas
  • Y Kids (Child Watch, Nursery, Funhouse, Playhouse, Game Room)
  • Towel and coffee service are temporarily suspended
  • Water fountains are no-touch, bottle-fill only
