YMCA camps offer kids a chance to explore places, activities and ideas outside their normal lives. At camp, they discover new talents, new interests and new friends. Parents have trusted YMCA camps for generations, because, they are experiences that help foster leadership, self-confidence, and deepen respect for the environments and communities we live in.
As area school systems adjust calendars due to COVID-19, we will adjust our programming for the 2020-2021 school year.
Kids build confidence at YMCA Intersession through a variety of activities including swimming, arts and humanities, STEM activities and field trips. Intersession is a full-day program for kids in Lee County year-round or modified calendar schools.
YMCA Overnight Camps are a home away from home for campers ages 5 - 15.
We have three overnight camps, Camp Kanata in Wake Forest, Camp Sea Gull in Arapahoe and Camp Seafarer in Arapahoe. Our camps on the coast focus on seamanship and offer summer sessions in one, two, or four weeks,
School Holiday Camps
2020 - 2021 School Year
The YMCA will not be able to offer Teacher Workday or Holiday Care Days through the end of the 2020 - 2021 school year. However, parents are welcome to register their child(ren) for the YMCA Scholastic Support Center program on the following workdays and holidays.
Sports Day Camps
YMCA Sports Summer Day Camps offer kids a full summer of basketball, soccer, flag football, baseball or a mix of all sports. Our Sports Day Camps are led by high school and college-aged students who play the sport themselves and who have a passion for coaching kids and being excellent role models.
Track Out Camps
The YMCA is offering Track Out Camp this year for children in year-round school.
Go on new adventures all year with YMCA Track Out Camps. Our Track Out Camps serve Wake County year round and modified calendar schools.
Wake County Public Schools have consolidated their multi-track calendars to one calendar and the YMCA will offer daily care and programs during these times.
Traditional Day Camps
Traditional YMCA Summer Day Camps are full-day summer camps held at YMCAs and community locations around the Triangle. These summer camps include a wide variety of activities such as swimming, games, arts and crafts and sports.
Each week of summer camp features a different theme and activities.
