The YMCA offers sports all year at branches and locations around the Triangle for kids ages 3 - 15. They come to play basketball, soccer, flag football, volleyball, baseball, tee-ball, softball, futsal and tennis.
YMCA youth sports provide opportunities for camaraderie, building skills and character development. We aim to keep kids moving and focus on their health and well-being.
We offer competitive and recreational programs.
PROGRAM OFFERINGS
Preschool Sports
YMCA Rookie Sports is designed for kids, ages 3 - 5 (potty-trained), who are new to sports and teaches basic skill development in soccer, basketball, and tee-ball.
Players are introduced to sports through drills, gym games and team play. We aim to build confidence and enhance motor skills.
Rookie Sports is held throughout the year. Each season is between 6 - 8 weeks long and ends with a family day and an awards celebration.
Youth Baseball, Softball and Tee-ball
The YMCA offers baseball, softball and tee-ball. Depending on age and location, teams may be coach pitch, machine pitch or off the tee, and practices and game schedules may vary.
This spring, sports may look different. While we hope to offer our traditional league format, due to state and local guidelines around health and safety, the YMCA may have to restructure our leagues.
Youth Basketball
This fall and winter YMCA youth basketball will be different. Due to state and local guidelines around health and safety, the YMCA has decided to restructure our leagues.
Instead of a traditional league format, we are adapting to focus on skills development through our YMCA Basketball Skills Academy.
Youth Flag Football
The YMCA offers flag football for all kids ages 6 - 15. Depending on age and location, practices and game schedules may vary.

Youth Futsal
The YMCA offers a recreational futsal program designed to give players extra experience during a time when soccer is usually out of season.
Youth Soccer
This spring, YMCA youth soccer will be different. Due to state and local guidelines around health and safety, the YMCA has decided to restructure our leagues.
Youth Tennis
Tennis lessons are a great way to learn the game of tennis or to perfect your tennis game.
Whether your child is brand new to tennis or an advanced player, he or she can learn skills and techniques from one of our tennis professionals.
We offer private, semi-private and group lessons for players of all ages and skill levels.
Youth Triathlons
Each year the YMCA of the Triangle introduces more than 100 kids ages 7 - 14 to triathlons. We host a youth triathlon in North Raleigh in the late summer.
The YMCA also offers a five-week training program to help participants get prepared for the race.

Run: one half mile
Youth Volleyball
