Giving Tuesday at the YMCA

The Triangle is considered one of the best places to live in the nation, but hunger continues to be an epidemic in our region. One in seven people struggles with hunger in our state. One in five is a child.

This year, help us change those odds by feeding our friends and joining us as we turn #GivingTuesday into #GivingFoodDay at the YMCA of the Triangle.

Drop Off Locations
Beginning Monday, Nov. 14, YMCA branches throughout the region will collect donations of canned goods and non-perishable food for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Look for the food collection bins in the lobbies of our branches. We'll wrap up the effort on #GivingFoodDay, Tuesday, Nov. 29.

Be sure to check this list of most-needed items from the Food Bank. Our goal is to donate one ton of non-perishable food to the Food Bank on #GivingFoodDay.

Our Partnership with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina
The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina is an affiliate member of the Feeding America Network, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. A top priority for the Food Bank is to close gaps via direct distributions in the community to get the right food to people at the right time. That’s where the YMCA comes in. In 2022, our Y was named a partner agency distributing food at branches and pop-up events.

Financial Support
If you can't make it to the Y to drop off non-perishable food items, you can make a gift online. We will direct your gift on #GivingTuesday to support YMCA Food Support efforts.
