Developing Changemakers

At the Y, we develop leaders and changemakers of all ages who are committed to making our communities better for everyone.

Ebony

Ebony grew up with changemaker parents who educated, volunteered and advocated to make their community a better place.

She carries that mantle as an attorney for the Department of Transportation and as a Southeast Raleigh YMCA Advisory Board Member and Annual Campaign Chair.

"To be a changemaker is not just being aware of the needs in our community. It means doing something to fix those needs through awareness, accountability and action."

- Ebony

Atiq

Atiq has been involved with the YMCA since his family moved to North Carolina from India in 2010. He attended Summer Day Camp and our Y Learning after school program, then became a counselor and volunteer.

Today, Atiq works full-time as a data analyst for an international technology company and continues his YMCA work on the weekends as a wellness director.
