YMCA Super Skippers Host US National Team Trials

Chapel Hill, NC - The YMCA of the Triangle Super Skippers, the competitive jump rope team based at the Northwest Cary YMCA, partnered with the governing body of competitive jump rope (AMJRF) to host the US National Team Trials Saturday, February 15 and Sunday, February 16 at the Fetzer Gymnasiums on the UNC-Chapel Hill Campus. Admission to spectators was free. View events schedule.

Thirty-eight YMCA of the Triangle athletes competed and all 38 qualified to go to the world competition in Japan in at least one event. As a team, the YMCA Super Skippers qualified in more than 86 events. 

In total, 232 athletes from across the country competed to determine who will represent Team USA at the 2025 World Jump Rope Championships in Kawasaki, Japan this summer. Athletes competed in single rope and double dutch events with both individual and group formats for speed, endurance, routines and freestyle categories.

The YMCA Super Skippers are celebrating 30 years of competition. Super Skippers offers recreational and homeschool classes, mini skill workshops and summer day camp. Learn more about the program. Early spring recreational classes start March 18. Register for classes.
