Camp Excel: Wakefield Elementary School
Camp Excel, formerly known as Camp High Hopes, is operated through the Kerr Family YMCA in Wake Forest. It is a fully subsidized summer day camp for children in select neighborhoods and communities around northeast Wake County and the Wake Forest area, or who qualify on a needs basis.
At Camp Excel, campers can choose their activities. We offer sports, swim lessons, character development activities, literacy instruction and traditional camp activities such as arts & crafts and outdoor games.
Children are fed breakfast and lunch through the YMCA's partnership with Wake County Public Schools.
Camp Excel is held at Wakefield Elementary School and is open to rising K - 10.
