Meadowmont YMCA Day Camp

At YMCA at Meadowmont Day Camp, kids connect with new friends, discover new passions, and make memories that will last a lifetime. Through sports, swimming, crafts and fun games, our counselors teach lessons like caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Campers at this camp take two fun field trips each week, and have swim time at our outdoor pool every day! So if you’re looking for a fun summer filled with adventure, you’ll find it at Meadowmont Day Camp. YMCA at Meadowmont Day Camp is open go campers in rising grade K – 6.

OUR STAFF

YMCA summer day camp staff are ages 16 through early college. Many were campers themselves. Each YMCA camp counselor is hand-picked for their enthusiasm, energy, eye for safety and maturity. All counselors go through 30 hours of hands-on training in everything from managing a group of energetic kids to basic first aid.

Camp Times

YMCA at Meadowmont Day Camp runs from 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, except Wednesday, July 4. Sessions are one week long.

Meadowmont YMCA Day Camp

One of the keys to ensuring your child has a great camp experience is to come prepared for a fun camp day. A little planning can help your child's summer camp experience begin with a smooth start and ensure that he/she has an experience to remember! Campers at this camp take two fun field trips each week, and have swim time at our outdoor pool every day! Be sure your child gets a good night's sleep and starts their day with a healthy breakfast. 

What to bring to camp each day

  • Backpack
  • Sunscreen (please apply it before you arrive)
  • Water Bottle
  • Sneakers or sandals with a heel strap
  • Bathing suit and towel (campers swim 5 days a week at this camp)
  • Nutritious Bag Lunch (non-perishable)
  • A healthy snack

What to leave at home

  • Electronics, games, phones or music players
  • Candy
  • Personal sports equipment
  • Money or valuables
  • Toys
  • Flip-flops or open heeled sandals
  • Weapons

daily schedule

Although daily schedules vary based on themes, special events and weather, a typical day at Meadowmont Day Camp looks like this:

7:30 - 8:50 a.m.  Early Arrivals
9 a.m. Opening Ceremonies
9:30 a.m. Group Time: Character Counts
10:30 a.m.  Activity Period 1: This rotating activity time may be swimming, archery, arts & crafts, or field games.
11:15 a.m. Activity Period 2: This rotating activity time may be swimming, archery, arts & crafts, or field games.
12 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. Lunch
1:30 p.m. Activity Period 3: This rotating activity time may be swimming, archery, arts & crafts, or field games.
2:30 p.m. Activity Period 4: Clinics – This activity time is an elective. Campers are given options of special activities to participate in.
3:30 p.m. Closing Ceremonies
4:30 p.m. After Care
6 p.m. Camp Ends

SWIMMING

Children take a swim assessment on their first day of swimming at camp. The swim evaluation is designed to gauge a child's swimming skills and comfort level.

Once assessed, swimmers wear a swim band indicating where they are allowed in the pool. If a child is assessed as a non-swimmer, the Y will provide a Coast Guard approved life jacket.
