Join us on March 14 at 8:30 a.m. for the annual Leprechaun Dash! This 5K or 10K run raises money for youth-serving opportunities right here in Chatham County.
On what will be a fun and challenging course, we'll celebrate St. Patrick's Day and raise money for children in Chatham County. Whether you're tuning up for a spring half-marathon or just want a good goal for a New Year's resolution, this race is for you. Prizes will be awarded for age groups and for the best leprechaun attire. No matter what, don't forget to wear green!

The Course
Dash 5.0 will again start and finish at the Chatham Park YMCA (120 Parkland Drive, Pittsboro), racing through Chatham Park. "Dashers" are encouraged to make a day of it exploring Chatham Park and downtown Pittsboro, where you can easily walk to a number of restaurants or breweries for brunch or lunch.
Want to walk either course? You're welcome to! We plan to keep our timing set up until at least 11 a.m. Please stay on sidewalks and cross roads safely at crosswalks and street corners. We cannot guarantee police presence after 10:30 a.m.
Stroller and pet policies: Baby strollers/joggers are permitted, but for the safety of all participants, please start at the back behind the runners and walkers. Pets are not allowed on the racecourse.
OUR CAUSE
All event proceeds support the Chatham community through YMCA after school, summer day camp and membership scholarships. Annually, the Chatham Park YMCA provides over $90,000 worth of scholarships for LOCAL child care and youth-serving programs where we seek to build people through outdoor activities, sports and leadership development. These scholarships also support the community in living a healthy lifestyle and finding a place where they belong at the YMCA.
