Super Skippers bring home World Champion Title in Single Rope Freestyle
Kawasaki, Japan — The energy was electric and the ropes were flying as 38 athletes from the YMCA of the Triangle’s Super Skippers team proudly represented the United States at the 2025 World Jump Rope Championships, held July 27 – August 3. Competing in 86 total events, the Super Skippers showcased their speed, skill and synchronized artistry on the international stage, bringing home a collection of top finishes that reflect their dedication and excellence.

One of the most thrilling moments of the competition came when Lauren Ellis, Super Skippers teammate and assistant coach, was named World Champion in Single Rope Individual Freestyle. Her dynamic routine impressed judges and spectators alike, earning her the top spot in one of the sport’s most competitive categories.

Beyond competition, the program offers recreational and homeschool classes, mini skill workshops and summer day camps. Fall recreational classes are available in September and October at the Northwest Cary YMCA, and competition team tryouts are held each August.
