The weekend of November 5 was the Wake Futbol Club Fall Invitational tournament in Holly Springs. This tournament is for Classic and Challenge-level soccer teams with players ages 10U - 19U.
The Kraft Family YMCA had four teams enter the tournament: The 9U Scorpions, 10U Lightning, 12U Red Storm, and the 13U Hotspurs. Coach Adam Steele shared his account from the weekend:
"Every team took away points from the tournament with at least one win while going up against classic level teams. The Hotspurs, playing in a division of 13U and 14U teams, won the championship game today against a 14U team. It was a dramatic and hard fought 2-1 victory!"
The Northwest Cary YMCA's 10U team, the Cheetahs, also entered the tournament. Coach Kingsley McLeod spoke to his team's hard work this fall:
"This season was a great first season! Our Cheetahs' players have been working hard to improve their technical skills and overall understanding of the game. By the end of the season, they were able to successfully perform dribbling skills against opponents and some basic attacking principles. We're excited for the spring and what more we can learn."
