Carolina Dance Collaborative Camps

We're pleased to continue our partnership with the Carolina Dance Collaborative to bring dance camps to the A.E. Finley YMCA this summer! 

Prior dance experience is not required. 

Each week will include:

• Crafts pertaining to the theme
• High-quality teaching in technique and choreography
• End of camp performance (Fridays at 3:30 p.m.), showing off campers' hard work and creativity

My First Tutu (June 19- 23, Ages 3 - 5 years): Calling all aspiring and budding ballerinas! Campers will learn the basics of ballet, dance their way through some storytime ballets, and make their own tutu throughout the week. Participants need ballet slippers and should wear comfortable clothes that they can easily move in. Leotards may be worn but are not required.

Princess Dance (July 10 - 14, Ages 5 - 9 years): Calling all princess lovers! This camp will introduce campers to jazz, ballet, and hip-hop by dancing along with their favorite songs from movie and television classics. 

Encampo Dance (July 24 - 28, Ages 4 - 6 years): Let's talk about Bruno! Campers will enjoy themed crafts, songs and dance all week! We will teach jazz, ballet, and hip-hop dance styles with moves inspired by Bruno, Mirabel, Isabela and Luisa. Campers will create and learn dance routines for a magical performance at the end of the week. Campers should wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in. Movie-themed costumes may be worn as long as they do not restrict your child’s movement.

Dance & Roll (Aug. 7 - 11, Ages 6 - 10 years): Calling all dancers and tumblers alike! Campers will explore basic tumbling techniques like forward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, candlesticks, bridges and more while exploring dance and movement to music. Campers will learn dance/tumbling choreography and create their own group dances to showcase at a Friday performance for family and friends.
