PROGRAM OFFERINGS

Camp Excel

Camp Excel is a summer day camp subsidized by donations to the YMCA's Annual Campaign. Campers participate in character-development activities, literacy instruction, sports and swim lessons. Each day, children receive a snack and a nutritious meal. Camp Excel is offered to elementary and middle school students. Each location also may offer a Kindergarten Readiness Program, Sports Camp and a CILT program for grades 9 and 10.

Community Hope Mentoring

Community Hope is a community support program operating in 6 affordable housing communities in the Raleigh area.  Students in Community Hope come four days a week to meet with mentors, develop meaningful relationships, and have fun!

Food Distribution

Hunger is a tragic side effect of the coronavirus. The YMCA of the Triangle is committed to changing hunger in our communities.

Select YMCA facilities serve as regional food hubs for meal distribution for families in Wake County. Through a partnership with Wake County, the Y will provide one to two weeks' worth of shelf-stable and fresh food.

The YMCA has provided more than one million meals since September 2020.

Swim for Life

We believe learning to swim can save lives.

The YMCA of the Triangle launched Swim for Life in March 2011 in response to reports that minority children and teens had high drowning rates, and some 70% of African-American kids did not know how to swim.

We believe swimming is a life skill and all children and adults should have access to water safety classes and basic swim lessons.

Y Learning

Our YMCA is committed to bridging the education gap. That's why we developed Y Learning a standardized academic support program for students in grades K – 8 who struggle to reach school-system benchmarks. Most Y Learning students lack financial and educational support at home.
