Friday Fun Night; oh what a night. From dance circles on the floor and Black Light Bingo to delegate karaoke, the night was special.
Throughout the night, delegates flooded a dance floor illuminated by glowsticks and balloons. At times, there were chaotic dance circles and clusters of time-traveling delegates, and other surprisingly organized times of the night, like delegates line dancing to “Church Clap” and the “Cha Cha Slide.” The mic was then opened to delegates singing karaoke, ranging from “Champagne Supernova,” “Mamma Mia,” and the classic “Party in the USA.”
On the other side of the room, bounce houses, obstacle courses, and an inflatable version of The Floor is Lava created an environment where everyone could feel like a kid again. Down the hall at the Convention Center, Black Light Bingo seemed another popular option, with winners ending the night with bags of candy and gift cards to their favorite restaurants.
The delegates' creativity and costume choices demonstrated an investment in the “Decades” theme. It seems disco fashion was the rage, and many adopted bright colors, sequined fabrics, and flowing bell-bottom pants. Some delegates took their YAG outfits to the next level by dressing as figures such as George Washington. There were even a few female delegates wearing dresses reminiscent of the 1700s.
Whether you danced all night, played in bounce houses, or shouted bingo, the night was unforgettable.
