Book: Raising Jalen: A Mother's Story of Faith, Strength, and Purpose
About the Author: Nyota Parris

Nyota Parris is a devoted mother, advocate, and higher-education professional whose life has been shaped by raising her son, Jalen, who was born with Mosaic Trisomy 7, a rare chromosome disorder, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through every medical challenge, therapy session, sports victory, and moment of growth, Nyota has learned the power of faith, resilience, and unconditional love.

Her book, Raising Jalen, is a deeply personal and faith- filled memoir about a mother who stood in the gap for her son when the world could not understand him. Born with a rare genetic disorder, Mosaic Trisomy 7, Jalen's journey became one miracle after another, shaped by prayer, persistence and a mother's unshakable love.

This is more than a story about special needs parenting, it is a testimony of faith in the valley, joy in the unexpected, and God's presence in every chapter of life.

This book reminds you:
- You are not walking this journey by accident.
- Your child is fearfully and wonderfully made.
- God has already gone before you.

Raising Jalen will encourage your heart, strengthen your faith, and remind you that miracles still happen, even in the hardest places.
