The YMCA of the Triangle celebrates Black History Month and encourages thoughtful engagement in the rich legacy of achievements and contributions to our nation. The Kerr Family YMCA will have opportunities throughout February, culminating on Friday, February 27.
We Wear Black
On the fourth Friday of February, YMCAs across the country commit to being an anti-racist, multicultural organization and honor Black History Month in a show of solidarity by wearing black. All members of the Y family are invited to participate.
In 2026, We Wear Black will take place on February 27. This community-building event was created by the African American Resource Network in 2020.
