Wells Fargo Supports Southeast Raleigh After School

Thanks to the support of Wells Fargo, the Southeast Raleigh YMCA is able to offer after school enrichment to more than 170 students at Southeast Raleigh Elementary School through Club R.O.A.R. Club R.O.A.R., which stands for Reaching Our Awesome Results, provides participants with a healthy snack as well as time focused on physical activity, academic enrichment, leadership development and community building.

From 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. each afternoon, students participate in academic instruction, homework assistance and an hour of enrichment activities. The Y partners with other organizations to offer enrichment classes in the Arts and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) that focus on improving spirit, mind and body. Partnerships have included Arts in Action, the Contemporary Art Museum and Girl Scouts.Transportation home is provided by Wake County Public School System.

“We are addressing the inequity that exists in our community and closing the gaps,” says Rodney McCormick, Southeast Raleigh Community Outreach Director.
