Join us on Monday, January 21 to answer the call of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to serve our community.

Community Interfaith Prayer Breakfast
Start the day at the Interfaith Prayer Breakfast on January 21 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Research Triangle Park. More than 1,000 people will hear words of compassion, hope and action inspired by Dr. King.

YMCA Branch Events
The YMCA of the Triangle is partnering with a number of organizations in the region to make our community a better place to live. Find an event near where you live or work. 

Alexander Family & Poyner YMCA
Join us at Southeast Raleigh High School as we host a food packaging event to benefit The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and help people dealing with food insecurity or assist with preparation of the high school's baseball field for the upcoming spring season. We will also collect nonperishable food and personal hygiene items at the Alexander Family and Poyner YMCA for students at Walnut Creek Elementary School through Monday, January 21.

A.E. Finley YMCA
Help us collect Meal Kits for Haven House and local families in need. Beginning January 14, we will have a "Giving Tree" on display in our lobby. Each leaf on the tree will have a family meal written on it. Take a leaf (or leaves) off of the tree, purchase the items required for the family meal and bring them back to the Finley Y as a donation. We will take donations through MLK Day.

Chapel Hill - Carrboro YMCA
Help us create birthday bags to give to families children who may not otherwise have supplies for children's birthday celebrations. Donate birthday party supplies beginning January 1 and help assemble the bags on January 21. Contact Donna.Williamson@YMCATriangle.org for more information about donating and volunteering.

Chatham YMCA
Join us in creating birthday bags for the CORA Food Pantry to give to children who may not otherwise have supplies for birthday celebrations. Downtown Durham YMCA
Join your neighbors in two service projects. Volunteer to unpack and organize donations for the Durham Community Food Pantry or help with a neighborhood clean up. Sign up online here for either project.

Ingram Family YMCA
Join us as we give back to our community in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., whose life exemplified service to others. We'll display a "Random Acts of Kindness Tree" throughout the week of MLK Day. Take a leaf from the tree and go out and perform a random act of kindness.

Kerr Family YMCA
We will collect donations for the homeless from January 7 - 21. If you are interested in making a donation, please select an item (or items) from the list below. All items can be dropped off at the Kerr Family YMCA's lobby.

Kraft Family YMCA
Help save a by donating blood at the Red Cross Blood Drive at the Kraft Y. Donate ingredients to pack Five Bean Rainbow Soup Kits for local families in need through our Mobile Market. Learn more here. 

Northwest Cary YMCA Taylor and the Taylor Famiy YMCA
The Northwest Cary YMCA and the Taylor YMCA will be taking 15 people to participate in a Day of Service at Dorcas Ministries in Cary NC. To fund its extensive outreach programs, Dorcas runs a Thrift Store to serve neighbors in need. Join us for a day of service to sort and price donations, stock the sales floor and perform other tasks necessary to run this important organization. Feel the power of working together to serve others. Volunteers must be 11 years old. Ages 11-13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
