Thrive at the Poole Family YMCA

THRIVE (formerly Lively at 55+) is a social and service group of people ages 55 and over.  We gather together to serve the community, build friendships, share interests and simply enjoy each other’s company!

This year, we're excited to expand to regional options in a partnership between the Poole Family YMCA (Garner) and East Triangle YMCA (Johnston County).

ONGOING FUN

  • Pickleball: Typically*, Mondays (10 a.m. - 12 p.m. & 6 - 8 p.m.), Tuesdays (1:30 - 3 p.m.), Wednesdays (10 a.m. - 12 p.m.), Fridays (6 - 8 p.m.), Saturdays (12 - 3 p.m.) and Sundays (3:30 - 6 p.m.) in the Poole gym. *See our gym schedule for weekly details
  • Group Fitness: Please check our group fitness schedule for the latest dates and times. 
    Pilates (Mon./Wed. 8:30 a.m.)
    Yoga Flow (Fri. 8:30 a.m.)
    Thrive: Chair Strength/Stretch (Tue./Thu. 11:45 a.m.)
    Cardio: Dance (Thu. 9:30 a.m.)
    Mind Body: Barre (Thu., 10:30 a.m.)
    Gentle Stretch (Fri. 8:30 a.m.)

Upcoming Events

January

Sat., Jan. 27: NC Museum of History is holding the 23rd Annual African American Cultural Celebration beginning at 10:30 a.m. There is NO transportation for this event. 

February

Sun., Feb. 4: 60th anniversary showing of My Fair Lady at Regal Theater White Oak. We will meet at LaCasina for lunch at 11:30 a.m. then head to the movie afterwards.  Please buy your movie tickets in advance for the 1:05 p.m. showing. There will be NO transportation for this event.  

Fri., Feb 16:  Thrive Olympics at Northwest Cary YMCA. There will be Chair Volleyball and Cornhole! Stay tuned for more details!   

Sat., Feb. 24: Chunky Blanket class; Come learn how to make a chunky Poole Family Multi-purpose room from 11 a.m. - Noon.  Stay tuned for what you'll need to bring with you. 

Tues., Feb. 27: Book Club, 10:30 - Beautiful World Where are You? by Sally Rooney

March 

March 13: Farmers Market visit & Lunch.  

March 21: Spring-time walk followed up by chair Strength & Stretch.
