Find Your Summer Job at the Y

Summer at the Y is more than a season. It’s a time when friendships are formed, confidence grows and young people discover what they’re capable of — sometimes for the very first time.

If you’re looking for a summer job that builds skills, strengthens character and makes a real difference, we invite you to attend one of our upcoming Summer Job Recruitment Fairs at your local branch. Please RSVP to any session that best fits your schedule.

More Than a Paycheck

A summer job at the Y is a first step into leadership for many teens and young adults. Whether you’re leading songs at camp, teaching a child to swim or ensuring safety at the pool, you are helping shape experiences that last a lifetime.

We’re hiring for a variety of roles, including:

  • Day Camp Counselors
  • Overnight Camp Counselors
  • Lifeguards
  • Swim Instructors
  • Pool Attendants

Each role plays an essential part in creating safe, welcoming and enriching environments for kids and families throughout the summer.

A First Job — and So Much More

For many teens, the Y is where a first job becomes the foundation for a future career. Staff gain hands-on experience in communication, teamwork, problem-solving and time management. They learn to lead a group, resolve conflict and adapt to unexpected challenges — skills that build resilience and confidence long after summer ends.

Our team members don’t just supervise activities. They mentor. They model positive behavior. They create a sense of belonging.

And along the way, they discover their own strengths.

Build Skills That Last a Lifetime

Working at the Y helps young people:

  • Develop leadership and decision-making skills
  • Gain certifications and safety training
  • Build strong relationships with peers and supervisors
  • Strengthen responsibility and accountability
  • Make a meaningful impact in their community

Many of our full-time leaders began as summer staff. What starts as a seasonal job can open doors to long-term growth and opportunity.
