Kindercamp: Northwest Cary YMCA
Summer 2023
Kindercamp is a half-day summer day camp for our littlest campers. These half-day programs are a great introduction to the structure and rhythm of day camp. Days are filled with songs, games, water play, circle time and crafts. We keep our ratios intentionally low so each camper can have plenty of one-on-one attention and care.
Kindercamp is open to campers ages 3 – rising K. Campers are required to be potty-trained. Kindercamp is operated through the Northwest Cary YMCA.
We can’t wait to see your children this summer. After all, a strong summer means strong kids.
Camp Descriptions
Week 1: All about Me!
A fun and fantastic introduction to camp! We will learn about the campers. Campers will get to learn about themselves, and each other.
Week 2: Safari
How many different animals can we find on our safari? Let's learn about the animals that we see on our safari.
Week 3: A Day in the Life of a Bug
Do they fly, crawl or have super strength? What do they eat and where can we find them? Let’s learn about different bugs and how they contribute to the environment.
Week 4: Space is Astronomical
The vast capacity of space is fascinating! Are there aliens? What do astronauts do? We will explore all the planets, sun, the moon and stars.
Week 5: Down on the Farm
We will learn about farms, farm animals, crops and why a farm is important.
Week 6: Planes, Trains, Automobiles
Let's get rolling! We are going to learn about the different modes of transportation.
Week 7: Dinosaurs
Will will take an adventure back in time where we will explore the different types of dinosaurs. When we get back from our time traveling adventures, we will explore what an archaeologist does and dig up some fossils!
Week 8: Wonders of Water
This week will include deep sea excursions, adventures at the bottom of a lake and discovering what is at the bottom of a river! We will explore all things water -- from animals that live in water to different bodies of water.
Week 9: Community Helpers
There are so many community helpers, such as police, doctors, and more. Let's explore what each one does and how they help everyone. What type of community helper would you like to be?
Week 10: Around the World in One Summer
As an explorer we will travel the world from the jungles of Southeast Asia to the Falkland Islands! Campers will learn what different cultures look like.
