Youth Soccer

The YMCA offers youth soccer in a fun, skill-based environment. Our teams are coached by volunteers and staff.

Like everyone, we are keeping up with the latest North Carolina and CDC guidelines around COVID safety. Please be sure to check our Youth Sports Health and Safety page for the latest information.

Teams are formed based on age. See below for details and locations. Please refer to our age chart to determine your child's age group league.

Players U8 and older must have and wear shinguards during play. Cleats are highly recommended. The YMCA recommends players U7 and younger have and wear shinguards and cleats during play.

2021 Fall Season

Registration opens May 1 for YMCA Members and May 15 for Program Participants.

Youth sports soccer teams are led by volunteer coaches. All volunteer coaches undergo a background check and training. Opportunities are available for coaches and assistant coaches at all locations.

Fall Skills Academy

For families who may not be comfortable returning to competitive play, select branches will offer skills academies this fall. Academies offered once per week, are a good fit for a first-year player interested in playing at a faster pace or a seasoned player looking for work on specific skills within the game. Academies offer small-sided gameplay but are limited to only players within each session.
