Taylor Y Aquatics Center

At the Y, we believe everyone should have the access and opportunity to swim throughout the year. Each year, more than 20,000 children, families and adults swim at the Taylor Family YMCA pools.

Since the 1990s, YMCA members have relied on the “bubble” for indoor swimming opportunities during the fall and winter. But the Taylor Y can’t meet the year-round aquatic needs for the growing community. It’s time to modernize the aging aquatic center to replace the bubble with a permanent, accessible aquatics center for all ages. We’re in the last lap of our capital campaign to build the Dick and Jean Ladd Aquatics Center at the Taylor Family YMCA.

Burst the Bubble

Your investment will guarantee more space for families to play, for senior citizens to stay active, for children to compete or just make a big splash.

Currently, the Taylor Family YMCA pools have 12 lap lanes. The new permanent aquatics facility will include an additional:

  • 8-lane, 25 yard lap pool
  • Heated, family/teaching pool for swim lessons, group aquatics classes and family swim
  • 2 private locker rooms directly off the pool deck

Future Impact

The new expanded facility is expected to allow the Y to offer 12,000+ swim lessons.

"Learning to swim needs to be taught to everyone for safety," says a mom of a young swimmer who took classes at the Taylor Y. "My son is now confident in the water, and can't wait to join the swim team at the Taylor Family YMCA!"

Everybody In!

Community support for the project has been incredible. We've raised more than $3.1 Million. Help us raise the last $500,000.
