We’re excited to announce that the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA is now a part of the YMCA of the Triangle family! This week, the volunteer boards of the YMCA of the Triangle and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA of the Triangle voted to merge.
EXCITING OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE THE TRIANGLE REGION
“This is an exciting opportunity for YMCA staff, YMCA members and the broader Triangle region. Our YMCAs share the same Mission and desire to serve,” said YMCA of the Triangle CEO Doug McMillan. “For years, our YMCA staff members have worked together in a variety of programs. This is a natural, healthy progression in our relationship. Together, we can continue to develop even more collaborative, innovative programs that meet the needs of our growing community.”
Both organizations anticipate that the merger will benefit YMCA members and employees, as well as our region. The newly expanded YMCA of the Triangle will be able to offer innovative programs developed by both organizations, and Triangle members will have access to facilities across the region. The YMCA of the Triangle will be better positioned to serve Chatham County, one of the fastest growing areas in the state.
