The YMCA Boys and Young Men of Color strategy builds on, and invest in, pathways to success that will inspire and transform personal identities so that boys and young men of color reach their full potential. Through this strategy, the YMCA hopes to recreate the kind of equitable communities shown to improve the well-being of boys ad young men of color, individually and collectively, so they can achieve economic and social mobility in adulthood.
The BYMOC program is built around Five Pillars. The goal is to support participants in:
- Social/Emotional Learning
- Diversity & Racial Equity
- Academic Success & College and Career Readiness
- Nurturing Skills
- Leadership Skills
