Youth Baseball, Softball and Tee-Ball

The YMCA offers baseball, softball and tee-ball. Depending on age and location, teams may be coach pitch, machine pitch or off the tee, and practices and game schedules may vary.

This spring, YMCA sports will offer small-sided league play. Games will take place with fewer athletes on the field than a typical season. In addition, for families who are not ready to participate in games, we will offer regional academy-style clinics.

Teams

Teams are formed based on ages U5 - U13. See below for details and locations. Please refer to our age chart to determine your child's age group league.

Spring Season

A.E. Finley YMCA
May 13 - July 8
Tee-Ball (U6), Coach Pitch (U8 & U10 Softball, U8 Baseball), Baseball (U10)

Chapel Hill - Carrboro YMCA
April 1 - May 27
Coed U5 - U7 (Tee-Ball) & U9 (Tee or optional Coach Pitch)

Kraft Family YMCA
May 1 - June 24
U4-U5 (Tee-Ball), U6-U7 (Tee or optional Coach Pitch)

Poole Family YMCA
Thursday evenings, June 22 - August 10
U4-U5 (Tee-Ball) & U6-U9 (Coach Pitch)
 

Players

Players must have a glove to play. 

Coaches

Youth baseball, tee-ball and softball teams are led by volunteer coaches. All volunteer coaches undergo a background check and training. Opportunities are available for coaches and assistant coaches at all locations. 

Registration Dates

YMCA Youth tee-ball teams play in the spring, with registration in February.
