YMCA camps offer kids a chance to unplug and safely explore places, activities and ideas. At camp, children discover new talents, new interests and make new friends.
Parents have trusted YMCA camps for generations because our caring, trained staff foster skill development, inclusion and a fun environment.
Sign Up for our Virtual Family Night
YMCA Summer Day Camp is packed with time-honored traditions. One of our favorites is Family Night where campers share day camp fun with parents and friends. We're inviting you to join us for Virtual Family Night on Thursday, April 22 at 7 p.m.
During this event, you’ll learn more about favorite camp traditions and fun activities we'll offer this summer. We’ll share more about what makes Y Summer Day Camp special and how we’re working harder than ever to keep campers safe.
Traditional Day Camps
Traditional YMCA Summer Day Camps are full-day summer camps held at YMCAs and community locations around the Triangle. These summer camps include a wide variety of activities such as swimming, games, arts and crafts and sports.
Each week of summer camp features a different theme and activities.
Sports Day Camps
YMCA Sports Summer Day Camps offer kids a full summer of basketball, soccer, flag football, baseball or a mix of all sports. Our Sports Day Camps are led by high school and college-aged students who play the sport themselves and who have a passion for coaching kids and being excellent role models.
YMCA Overnight Camps are a home away from home for campers ages 5 - 15.
We have three overnight camps, Camp Kanata in Wake Forest, Camp Sea Gull in Arapahoe and Camp Seafarer in Arapahoe. Our camps on the coast focus on seamanship and offer summer sessions in one, two, or four weeks,
School Holiday Camps
The YMCA is opening additional programs on Teacher Workdays and Asynchronous Learning Days. We understand that for families who have chosen in-person school, these days can create a challenge. The Y is here to help!
Our program will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. and will provide a safe place for children to complete their asynchronous work and enjoy YMCA games and activities for the remainder of the day.
Track Out Camps
The YMCA is offering Track Out Camp this year for children in year-round school.
Go on new adventures all year with YMCA Track Out Camps. Our Track Out Camps serve Wake County year round and modified calendar schools.
Wake County Public Schools have consolidated their multi-track calendars to one calendar and the YMCA will offer daily care and programs during these times.
