5651 Honeycutt Road, Holly Springs, NC 27540

Camp High Hopes is a subsidized summer day camp for children in select schools and neighborhoods in the Fuquay-Varina and Holly Springs area. It is open to students (and siblings) currently enrolled in the YMCA Y Learning programs at Apex, Baucom, Dillard Drive, Fuquay Middle and Holly Ridge.

Camp High Hopes is funded by donations to the YMCA's Annual Campaign.

Campers will enjoy swimming, skill development, awards, weekly themes, character development, literacy instruction, team building activities, crafts and outdoor games. Breakfast and lunch are provided free of charge at Camp High Hopes by the Summer Feeding Program.

High Hopes Kindergarten Readiness will provide seven weeks of daily educational activities for ages 4 - 5. Campers will participate in at least 120 minutes of kindergarten readiness activities (literacy, math and S.T.E.M.).

Camp High Hopes will also host family nights during the summer. These events give families the opportunity to meet counselors and summer camp friends.

Camp High Hopes at Buckhorn Creek Elementary School is operated through the Kraft Family YMCA.

Campers in Leadership Training is for our oldest campers, age 13 - 15. These campers will enjoy special activities, and hands-on training and leadership skills and development.

Middle School

Camp High Hopes Middle School is for grades 6 - 8. Older campers enjoy more privileges and freedom than younger campers while still being safe and participating in general day camp activities.

This smaller camp-within-a-camp model is for our rising kindergartners. We take special care of our youngest campers and help prepare them for kindergarten and the additional responsibilities that school brings. Our staff to child ratios are smaller for this camp too to allow for more individual attention.

At Camp, Character Matters

At YMCA Summer Day Camp, campers earn beads for exemplifying our five character traits: Honesty, Respect, Caring, Responsibility and Faith. Campers can earn beads daily by being a good friend, picking up after themselves or leading a camp prayer.
