Your data privacy and security are important to us. We have updated our Privacy Policy with you in mind. These updates to our privacy practices, policies and agreements ensure YMCA of the Triangle and our customers remain compliant with upcoming changes to the EU data protection law (General Data Protection Regulation, or “GDPR”). This new privacy policy went into effect on May 24, 2018.


The YMCA of the Triangle (YMCA) is very respectful about the privacy concerns of our customers and visitors to our websites. The YMCA collects personal information from you on our websites only when it is specifically and knowingly provided by you.

When you interact with our websites to make a purchase or a website that utilizes our services, we collect personal and technical information about you, your visit, and your recent purchases. This may include your name, email address, address, mobile, home and work phone numbers, gender, date of birth, order information, product interests, content topic interests, loyalty information, customer number, information about your visit (such as an IP address), operating system, location information and other device information. We may also record additional information about your visit including the pages you viewed on our websites, products you browsed or placed in an online shopping cart as well as any content pages you have viewed. We collect this information about customers and visitors to create a profile of your interests and to serve you personalized content on websites and/or via personalized marketing promotions. In some cases, we may automatically enroll you in marketing campaigns based on your product interests or purchase history.

You may also have the option to disclose additional, personal information about yourself inside a preference center or as part of a contest. This authorizes us to send you marketing materials and interest-based promotions and content.

This data is not sold or otherwise transferred outside the YMCA without consent of the customer or visitor.

Each email update or newsletter will contain instruction on how to discontinue receipt of the updates or newsletter.


The YMCA, whether or not affiliated with sites which may be linked to one of our websites, is not responsible for their content. Linked sites are for your convenience and the inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement. They are accessed at your own risk.


In accordance with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), the YMCA will never request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without parental consent. When we do receive information (with parental consent) from users under the age of 13, we will never voluntarily share their personally identifiable information with third parties without parental consent as well.


The YMCA may use cookies for limited purposes. Cookies are small pieces of text stored on your computer that help identify which internet browser you are using and pages you have visited on all YMCA websites to which you may link in order to use our features or make a purchase. We do not use cookies to retrieve personally identifiable information about you. If you do not accept a cookie from the YMCA, you will unable to submit questions or applications to us.


If we decide to change or update our Privacy Policy, we will post these changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it. You may determine when this Privacy Policy was updated last by noting the "Last Updated" date directly beneath the title of this section.
