In celebration of MLK Jr. Day of Service, join us for a Groundwater Presentation & Debrief hosted led by the Racial Equity Institute. This is a partnership between the Southeast Raleigh YMCA, Southeast Raleigh Promise, and Southeast Raleigh High School. The Groundwater Approach is a figure of speech used to tell the story, name and understand the reality that we live in a racially structured society, and that is what causes racial inequity.
There are two parts to this presentation:
- Virtual Groundwater Training offered by the Racial Equity Insitute on January 16 from 9 a.m. - noon
- Groundwater Training Debrief led by Southeast Raleigh Promise Youth Leaders on Monday, January 18 from 10 a.m. - noon
By examining the characteristics of modern-day racial inequity, the presentation introduces participants to an analysis that most find immediately helpful and relevant.
