On December 3, the YMCA of the Triangle asked our members to come together to help us fight hunger and support our neighbors by donating to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Thanks to you, we turned #GivingTuesday into #GivingFOODay.
A Lofty Goal
Our goal was to collect one ton of non-perishable food. Members from 16 of our branches took up the challenge and donated 6,707 pounds of food. That’s more than three tons of food, equating to 5,589 meals for families in the Triangle.
“It’s an honor to be a part of a community that cares so much about their neighbors,” said Yo Sobha, Associate VP of Diversity and Inclusion for the YMCA of the Triangle. “Our members really took up the challenge of addressing food insecurity in our community and we’re grateful for the support they give to our initiatives all year long.”
Thanks to all who donated. You show the impact we have when we work together for good.
