Healthy and happy,
safe and sound – that’s the way to spend a summer.
And since it’s a parent’s job to worry about these
things, it’s our responsibility to make sure you’re
as comfortable as possible with the safety precautions we have
in place.
That’s why, underneath all the fun, we take the health
and safety of each camper so seriously. We have one counselor
for every five campers, to assure close supervision of all activities.
Life jackets, helmets and other safety gear are required for
participation in appropriate activities, and safety instruction
is an integral part of the skills-development process.
Our well-equipped Health Centeralways has a registered nurse on
duty living at the camp. If required, additional medical help
is provided by nearby professional medical services.
In addition, Kanata maintains accreditation by the American Camping
Association and has an “A” rating from the North
Carolina Health Department.

Kanata’s counselors come from as far away as Australia and
from as close as Wake Forest. Staff loyalty is apparent through
an unusually high return rate summer after summer. |
