Downtown Durham YMCA

A new full‑service YMCA, expected to open in early 2029, will offer modern health, wellness and youth programs, including aquatics, an indoor track and youth and teen spaces. With $39 million already secured, an additional $7 million in philanthropic support will complete the project and deliver lasting benefits for the community.

YMCA Youth Center

The Alexander Jones Wright YMCA Youth Center opened in January 2026 at the Alexander Family YMCA. Designed as a dedicated space for young people to learn, grow and thrive, the new 13,050-square-foot annex provides a safe, welcoming environment where youth can build confidence, strengthen relationships and develop resilience.

Chatham Park YMCA

The Chatham Park YMCA opened in March 2025 in Pittsboro as part of Preston Development's planned community project. After one year, the 36,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility is the home branch for 5,000 members.
