BASKETBALL LEVEL GREEN

Knowledge:
1.
Explain what a screen is and why it is used. Allows an offensive player to legally impede the movement of the ball handler's defender which either frees them for a shot or disrupts a defensive scheme.

Character Development:
2.
Bring in a Thought for the Day (TFTD) approved by a head counselor.

Skills:
3.
Make three out of five non-dominant hand lay-ups. Player must demonstrate proper form and begin the lay-up from the free-throw line. Lay-up must be made using non-dominant hand. (Using age-appropriate goal height and ball.)

4. Demonstrate cross-over dribbling. At game speed, player must show a proper cross-over dribble by switching hands when they reach a cone. Player's head must be up. No violations can be committed, and ball control must be maintained throughout the entire drill.

5. Demonstrate a proper screen and roll. Offensive player must establish a set position on the side of the defensive player. Once the ball handler uses the screen, the screening player rotates toward the ball handler.

6. Individual explode dribbling series. Offensive player lines up on the baseline, dribbles the ball with right hand below knee, and then above the knee making sure that the hand stays on top of the ball. The payer then repeats the series with left hand. Player than uses two explode dribbles and finishes with a jump stop. Repeat the process coming back.

7. Demonstrate one of the three advanced stationary drills learned in the yellow level.
