YMCA of the Triangle joins forces with WakeMed

The YMCA of the Triangle and WakeMed have joined forces to build a healthier community. Our collaborative effort provides health education and wellness programs to the entire community. WakeMed is now onsite at the A.E. Finley YMCA, the Cary Family YMCA and the Kerr Family YMCA providing physical and occupational rehabilitation, health screenings and educational classes. WakeMed will also operate offices from the Alexander Family YMCA (once the second phase of construction is complete) and the Kraft Family YMCA, located in Apex, once construction there is complete in early 2008.

WakeMed offers outpatient rehabilitation programs at the Finley, Kerr and Cary YMCA to provide physical therapy to members and the community. So whether you need ongoing rehabilitation as a result of injury, illness or disease, or whether you need a few sessions to straighten out that sore back, WakeMed’s rehab team and their physical therapists are onsite and ready to help.

Additional WakeMed at the YMCA programs include annual health fairs for families, ongoing health screenings, such as cholesterol and blood pressure, diabetes education for youth and adults, youth obesity prevention programs, nutrition instruction, sports health/injury seminars, rehabilitation and community outreach.
