The Banks D. Kerr Family YMCA can always use more helping hands. We have volunteer opportunities with our nursery, preschool, youth, teens and aquatics programs, and in our membership, operations and youth sports departments. Kerr Y volunteers are active in our community, love people and love to lend a helping hand. We have volunteer opportunities that can fit any interest and time budget. Volunteer Opportunities
	Volunteer Opportunities	Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering at the Kerr YMCA. For more information about volunteer opportunites, scroll through the page or print the following Adobe document. All volunteers must complete the volunteer application and return it to the Front Desk.
	Youth Program Counselor	Spend an afternoon interacting and playing with YMCA after school participants. Typical activities include, gym games, climbing wall, swimming, arts and crafts, outdoor games, playground time, assemblies and devotions. Volunteers must be enthusiastic and love children. Volunteers are asked for a once per week commitment for a minimum of one month.
	Group Exercise Instructor	Volunteers will prepare a class layout, choose YMCA appropriate music and lead a group of members in the selected group fitness class. Volunteers will assist people that need help while they exercise, implement proper exercise form, give modifications to the class as necessary, and help new members get connected to other members and staff. Specific commitments can range from month to month based on the bidding process. Volunteers are expected and encouraged to attend the regularly scheduled meetings.
	Swim Team Volunteer	There are many different opportunities including helping run meets by timing races, moving swimmers to their events, annoucements, writing ribbons, running concessions and planning outside events for swimmers and their families.
