Experience a Different Kind of Preschool

The Kerr preschool program at Camp Kanata utilizes its terrific location on 150 acres in Wake Forest to encourage preschoolers to discover nature’s bounty and beauty in a unique atmosphere and setting.

At our preschool, a nature walk is through a wooded area where children find pine cones and different types of leaves. There is plenty of space to run, kick and play all under the watchful eye of our well-trained teachers and teacher assistants. We have designated outdoor spaces with age-appropriate play equipment, indoor cabins converted into preschool rooms with individual bathrooms, and a large dining hall with a deck for those who stay for the Lunch Bunch.

Our curriculum is designed to encourage social, skill and character development through tactile learning experiences. Children may learn math skills by counting cabins or use leaves to make a colorful fall collage. Plenty of learning happens indoors as well with our Spanish and Music & Movement centers. The cabins are spacious with room for tables and chairs for the little ones and lots of books, puzzles and other learning tools.
