Summer Day Camp Registration Information
Campers age 3 - Rising 10 Grade

YMCA Summer Day Camp is a fun, safe way for your child to spend the entire summer! The Durham YMCAs offer half day camps for campers age 3 to rising kindergarten and full day camps for campers who are rising kindergartners to rising 10 grade. At the YMCA, we believe in the potential of every child. Our well trained youth counselors and Directors provide a fun, safe environment full of positive role models for your camper. The Durham YMCAs offer summer day camps at the Downtown YMCA, Triangle Day School, Kestrel Heights School and Hope Valley Swim and Racquet Club. Registration for YMCA Members & Returning Participants begins March 15. Open Registration for the public begins April 12.

Camp Skyline

Camp Skyline is a full-day camp in the Central Park District of Durham! Activities include: swimming, active sports, learning new skills, character development, devotions, crafts, and much more! The counselors at Camp Skyline create a safe environment while your children enjoy a wide variety of activities. Daily assemblies include songs, contests, and skits. Each week is packed with excitement theme days, archery, and tons of other fun activities.

Camp Skyline Sports
Rising grades 1 - 6
Downtown Durham YMCA

Camp Skyline Sports offers a unique blend of fun and skill development that allows seasoned players to excel and introduces newcomers to each sport. The camp places a strong emphasis on goal setting, and campers are encouraged to set and achieve individual goals each week.

2010 Themes for Camp Skyline Sports:

Kindercamp
Ages 3 - rising K
Hope Valley Farms Swim and Racquet Club
4818 S. Roxboro Street

Half-day camp Monday through Friday, with music, crafts, games, skill development, and family events throughout the summer. Kindercampers dress up for Wacky Wednesdays and earn beads for their Kindercamp hats as an introduction to YMCA character traits.

Staff strive to provide children with safe, fun-filled opportunities to develop physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually in this half-day summer preschool camp. Activities include swimming, awards, songs, arts and crafts, centers, devotions, indoor/outdoor games, gymnastics, and much more!

Camp Frontier

Camp Frontier is a full-day camp that offers a variety of activities and opportunities to campers. Each weekly session is loaded with fun activities from start to finish. While at Camp Frontier, campers will participate in daily swimming at the Parkwood Swimming Pool, theme days, assemblies, outdoor games, a huge Slip-n-Slide, arts and crafts and more.

Hope Valley Farms Shuttle
For campers at Camp Frontier and Camp Upward Bound.
The shuttle will pick up and drop off and Hope Valley Farms Swim and Racquet Club

YMCA counselors will be at Hope Valley Farms to greet campers at 7:30 am. The bus will depart for Camp Frontier and Camp Upward Bound promptly at 8:30 am. In the afternoons, campers will board the bus after closing assembly (4:35 p.m.) and should arrive at Hope Valley Farms around 5:00 p.m. Campers may stay with YMCA counselors until
6:00 pm.


Registration: Campers must register to ride the shuttle at the same time they register for Camp Frontier or Camp Upward Bound. Spaces are limited.
Fees: Free to campers of Camp Frontier and Camp Upward Bound.
