We currently provide transportation from the following schools to the Lakewood YMCA:

  • Central Park
  • Durham Academy (grades 1 - 8)
  • Healthy Start Academy
  • Lakewood Elementary
  • Morehead Montessori



If your child attends a school that we currently do not service, please check with that school to see if transportation is provided to the Lakewood YMCA.

Kids Club After School is the place to be after school! It's the perfect blend between fun and homework. It's not all work though - swimming, gym games, skill development clinics, arts & crafts and more round out our day! More...


Registration: Registration for the 2008-2009 school year is ongoing! You can register and the front desk of any Durham YMCA. At registration you will need the Youth Registration Form, and a voided check.
When: Mon. - Fri. (except teacher workdays and holidays)
School dismmissal until 6:00 p.m. (including early release days)
Fees: There is a $25 registration fee and partial program draft(s) due at the time of registration.

Members: $149.90 / draft
Program Participants: $187.70 / draft

Year round Students
Members: $121.50 / draft
Program Participants: $152.50 / draft

The Clubhouse After School at Hope Valley Farms
Traditional and year round students in grades K - 5
Hope Valley Farms Racquet Club

We currently provide transportation from the following schools to Clubhouse After School at Hope Valley Farms Racquet Club:

  • Creekside Elementary
  • Hope Valley Elementary
  • Southwest Elementary
  • Persontown Elementary

2008 - 2009 Year Round School Intersessions
Grades K-8 in all year round schools
Lakewood YMCA

Come hang out at the Y with Intersessions, a safe, fun way to spend your time on break from school!
Intersessions are a great all-day experience for year round children! Children experience a summer camp atmosphere with an emphasis on character development, values and fun. Weekly activities include swimming, field trips (on select days), arts and crafts, sport clinics, programmed indoor/outdoor games and values times. More...


Registration: Registration is ongoing. You can register at the front desk of any Durham YMCA.
At registration you will need the Youth Registration Form.
When: 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

S.O.S Days are open to all children, regardless of the school they attend, and they do not have to be enrolled in other YMCA programs in order to participate. More...
