Tracking Out at the Cary Family YMCA

Wish your child could enjoy the summer camp experience all year long? Are weekly field trips and swimming two of your child's favorite activities? Participants in Tracking Out learn new skills, strengthen friendships, and have fun. Tracking Out is a great all-day experience for year-round children attending Adams Elementary, Carpenter Elementary, Green Hope Elementary, Highcroft Elementary, Laurel Park Elementary, Mills Park Elementary, Morrisville Elementary, Turner Creek Elementary, East Cary Middle, Lufkin Middle School, and Salem Middle School.

Track Out Trips to Camp Seafarer
Current Tracking Out Participants grades 2 - 8.

Camp Seafarer, a resident camp located on the Neuse River in Arapahoe, N.C. Camp Seafarer is a part of the YMCA of the Triangle Association and has been in operation for more than 30 years. For more information about this camp, please visit their website at www.seagull-seafarer.org.

A three-day, two-night field trip for all second through eighth graders in Tracking Out where they will get to participate in a variety of activities, such as boating, kayaking, canoeing, archery, zip lines, shark tooth hunts, campfires, nature, and sleeping in open-air cabins.

Registration: A Health History Form is required for your child to attend.
When: Track 1: March 24-26
Track 2: May 19-21
Track 3: May 10-12
Track 4: April 21-23
Fees: There is no additional cost to attend; however, your child must be enrolled in Tracking Out to participate.

4 Break Care

Choosing this option will allow your child to have child care for all four track out breaks. For participants choosing 4 Break Care, eight free days of programming are built into the cost of the program as credit for days missed due to vacation and/or illness.

3 Break Care

Choosing this option will allow your child to have child care at the YMCA for all track out breaks except the summer break:

  • Track 1 - June 9 - 30, 2010
  • Track 3 - July 27 - August 14, 2009
  • Track 4 - July 7 - 24, 2009



Track 2 must opt for 4 Break Care (scroll up for more information) since they do not track out during the summer months.

For participants choosing 3 Break Care, six free days of programming are build into the cost of the program as credit for days missed due to vacation and/or illness. More...

Tracking Out Sessions

Don't need care for all three weeks during your break...No Problem! More...


Registration: Registration is on a first come, first serve basis and space is limited. Register at the front desk by 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday before the program. Breaks are divided into sessions which are charged by the number of days per session. Session breaks cannot be split for any reason. Daily sessions are not offered.
Fees: 2009/2010 Rates
Members - $195/week
Program Participants - $245/week
2010/2011 Rates
Members - $158/week
Program Participants - $189/week
Payment in full is due at the time of registration.

Transportation Options

In order to accomodate as many needs as possible, the Cary Family YMCA will offer the following transportation options for Tracking Out: More...


Registration: Please choose one plan for the year at the time of registration. We must receive any changes, in writing, at least two weeks in advance.
Fees: There is no additional fee for choosing a transportation option. All transportation for your child is included in your program fee.

Traditional and Year Round School Programs Closing/Inclement Weather Policy
Any student currently enrolled in Early Arrival, After School, Track Out, or Schools Out Specials Program.
Please tune to local news for further information about YMCA Program closing.

NEW PROGRAM OPTION
When the Wake County Schools are closed the YMCA Youth Programs are also closed. However, the YMCA may be able to serve children when inclement weather occurs! If we are able to open, we will serve all children currently tracked out and registered for Tracking Out or SOS for the day at no charge. For all other Cary Family YMCA students, we will treat the day like a drop in School's Out Special Day on a limited basis. All participants will be served on a first come, first serve basis. You CANNOT reserve a spot in the program. This service will be determined on a daily basis and will only occur if the facility can be opened and the staff can safely get to work. More...


Contact: It is the parent's responsibility to call the YMCA Weather Line at 469-8675, ext. 184, to determine if the Tracking Out or SOS programs will operate. We may run on an abbreviated schedule.
