Camp Outer Limits
Rising Grades K - 8
Mills Park Middle School

Camp Outer Limits has a history of tradition at the Cary Family YMCA. As the longest running day camp you can expect fun-filled days with endless opportunities to engage in active sports, learn new skills, work on crafts, and make new friends. The counselors at Camp Outer Limits create a positive environment where your child will foster lifelong relationships. Daily assemblies contain songs, contests, and skits. Each week is packed with excitement ranging from Wacky Wednesday costume contest, swimming, archery, assemblies, and

Camp Outer Limits is not only a fun place to be this summer, but undoubtedly safe. Each counselor undergoes an extensive interview, reference and background check, and completes 30 hours of staff training prior to the start of the camp season. The YMCA operates summer programs on a 1:10 staff to child ratio. Your child's safety and well being are our top priorities!

Camp Outer Limits is an activity based day camp located at Mills Park Middle School. Daily activities include daily swim time, athletics, creative play, archery, outdoor games, gym and indoor activities, as well as devotion and character development.

Daily Activities
Every day at Camp Outer Limits is filled with tons of activities. There will be both huddle activities and individual choices each day.

  • Devotions and Character Development
  • Swimming
  • Skill Development
  • Activity Time (Individual choices and huddle activities)
  • Assembly Time (Assemblies happen every morning, lunch, and afternoon. Assembly is typically lead by the camp director and includes awards, funny skits, thought for the day, songs, and general information for all campers and counselors.)

Family Nights
We would love for your entire family to be a part of Camp Outer Limits. Some sessions of camp this summer will include a family night. Come join us for a great night of fun!

  • Thursday, June 28 - 7:00 p.m
  • Thursday, July 12 – 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 26 - 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 9 - 7:00 p.m

Skill Development!
Clinics are a unique way for children to learn new skills in a variety of activities. Each day campers choose a different skill on which to focus their clinic time. The focus is not 'playing' but learning. For example, during soccer clinic campers will not be playing a game but doing passing drills, discussing team strategy, practicing shooting at the goal, and learning the rules and how-to’s of soccer. It is an intentional time used to help campers develop new skills, refine old skills and help them become more proficient in that specific activity. Possible clinics include soccer, basketball, archery, arts and crafts, drama, chess, jump rope, and many more!

Who doesn’t have fun with Wacky Wednesdays?!
Wacky Wednesday happens every Wednesday at Camp Outer Limits! Everyone (counselors, directors, and campers) dresses up in costume according to the theme of the week. Camp is transformed for the day and fun, crazy theme based activities are planned. Get those creative juices flowing - what will YOU wear for Wacky Wednesday this summer at Camp O?

What to Bring
Please pack a lunch, two snacks, a water bottle, a bathing suit, sunscreen, and a towel for your camper every day. If you think your child might need a change of clothes, feel free to pack them as well. We encourage flip flops for the pool but they are not a mandatory item. Counselors CANNOT APPLY sunscreen on your children, so please apply sunscreen to your child before camp.
