Cary YMCA Pool
The Cary Family YMCA is offering lifeguard training classes. Participants must be 16 years old by the end of the class.
All classes must be attended. Full participation in the course and successful completion of written tests (80 percent of each section) and performance of all water skills (100 percent) is required.

Session 1 Tues./ Thurs., Jan. 5 – Feb. 25, 6:15 – 9:15 p.m.
Spring Break March 26, 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. March 27, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. March 28, 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. March 29, No Class March 30 - April 2, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. April 3, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Need different class times? Try the Finley branch or, the Alexander branch or, the Kerr branch.
Prerequisites: Long, shallow, front dive, then swim 500 yards, including 100 yards of sidestroke, front crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke kick with one arm forward and inverted breaststroke kick with one arm on the stomach. Tread water for two minutes with legs only Surface dive both head first and feet first into 10 feet of water and swim underwater for 15 feet. Must be able to hear noises and distress signals.
