Grades 6-8
Alexander Family YMCA
A healthy, lasting lifestyle starts early.
Strength and Conditioning is a six-week, small group program designed to help middle school students develop a lifelong love for exercise.
Led by nationally certified trainers and experienced athletes, this program teaches the basics of safe and effective weight lifting and cardiovascular training for all levels; the instructors help each student develop personalized, progressive workouts while teaching the merits of important healthy habits.

Games are held in the Alexander Family YMCA gym or in the St. Mary’s gym.
Your child belongs here! For years families have flocked to our gym to participate in this fun, challenging recreational league. We emphasize teamwork, skill development, fitness, and-most importantly-fun!
The Alexander Family YMCA offers several separate leagues for children ages kindergarten through eighth grade. Register at the Welcome Center!

Yoga allows children to improve their flexibility, strength, and coordination through an activity that’s non-competitive. Yoga’s encouraging environment also fosters self-esteem and a sense of calm that can help the navigate life’s challenges as they grow. Mark your calendar and bring your child to an upcoming class!

Girls age 8-12
Alexander Family YMCA
Girls on the Run is a life-changing character development program for girls ages 8-12.
Through a combination of running, lessons and a community service project, girls are taught values that lead to a confident sense of self. The 12-week program culminates with the girls' participation in a non-competitive 3.1 mile walk/run. This program is open to all girls in this age group, of all abilities.

Ages 6-18 with a risk of developing diabetes
Various community locations
ENERGIZE! is a 12 week program that teaches kids to lead active, healthy lives as they enjoy fun filled activities.
Children should be screend by their physician for prediabetes if they are overweight, have high blood pressure, or a family history of type 2 diabetes. Talk with your physician to find out if your child is at risk. Take this ENERGIZE! Referral Form to your child's next doctor visit.
