Our YMCA Family Programs department provides childcare for children while their parents are working out. We have a nursery for infants ages 6 weeks to 18 months, the Playhouse for toddlers 18 months to children 5 years old, and the Funhouse for children ages 5 years to fifth grade.

Volunteers are needed to spend time with young children helping the YMCA staff teach them values and new skills. Volunteers are welcome to read stories or sing songs with the children.

Training required: Each volunteer will need to complete an application, go through a background check, and complete a 45-minute online training on child abuse prevention. There may also be other training or meetings required. Any requirements will be communicated to you prior to you volunteering.

Schedule: Family Programs is open Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:15 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The schedule to volunteer is very flexible. We just ask that you commit to stay for at least one hour each time you volunteer.
