Spend an afternoon interacting and playing with YMCA after school children. Typical activities include gym games, swimming, arts and crafts, outdoor games, playground time, assemblies and devotions. Volunteers must be enthusiastic and love children.

Training required: Each volunteer will need to complete an application, go through a background check, and complete a 45-minute online training on child abuse prevention. There may also be other training or meetings required. Other requirements will be communicated to you prior to you volunteering.

Schedule: We ask that each volunteer commit to at least one hour per week. Our After School programs operate Monday through Friday afternoons from school dismissal time(varies by site)until 6:00 p.m.

Locations: We have After School programs at Leesville Elementary School, Sycamore Creek Elementary School, Brassfield Elementary School, Green Elementary School, Hilburn Elementary and here at the A. E. Finley YMCA.
